First AME Church of Los Angeles is praying for you.
We see and feel your pain.

LOS ANGELES— Pastor John J. Hunter, Senior Pastor of First AME Church of Los Angeles has expressed sympathy for the people of Japan following a deadly earthquake and tsunami.Thousands are dead or missing in Japan following Friday's 8.9 magnitude earthquake and accompanying tsunami. It was the largest recorded earthquake to strike Japan.

In a statement, Pastor John J. Hunter says that in such a globalized world all souls are impacted by the devastation visited on the island nation of Japan.

"The thoughts and prayers of our congregation are with the people of Japan, and all those who have friends and family affected by the earthquake and tsunami. FAME Church of Los Angeles has a special friendship with the people of Japan. The Tokyo Mass Choir sang for First AME Church of Los Angeles in October 2009 and blessed our hearts. We are in prayer for the first responders and medical personnel and all who are called upon to help during this unprecedented tragedy"
